THE MARTY KERR MIRACLE
We here at Truth to Awareness believe in true miracles and we have experienced many. One of the greatest miracles we have had the privilege and honor of being a part of is working with Marty. Marty is a 53 year old man with Down syndrome and has been diagnosed with dementia. Marty’s miracle is that he was diagnosed 5 years ago and he is still alive and approaching the record for the longest living dementia patient.
It has been a very long and rough road for Marty’s dad and mom, Dwight and Ann Kerr. They have demonstrated the most powerful unceasing love for their son over the last five years. This love has kept their son alive. They are his sole caregivers and they believe that their son can and will be fully restored. Their faith was severely tested three years ago, when Marty almost passed away. At that time they called Tommy, Marty’s kidneys were shutting down and he was non-responsive and had stopped eating. This is the point where the American Medical Association would call in hospice to facilitate the end of life for the individual.
The father’s story: My wife and I are people of great faith in our creator. We did not worry or go into fear but we were very concerned. When Tommy came into our home to visit Marty he did not say much, he just observed. Then with laser-like precision he told us to remove this, add this, and then he created a whole new concept for him to follow so he could win. To make a long story short, within 48 hours he was back to his normal state. My family and I never go to a doctor without talking to Tommy first.
